Everyday support that keeps you living life your way.
Assistance with Daily Life is the NDIS name for personal care and in-home support: hands-on help with washing and dressing, meals, medication prompts, household tasks and getting to appointments, so you can stay independent, safe and confident in your own routine. We work across Melbourne, Geelong and central Perth, with workers matched to you locally - find your area. Already have a support team? We'll happily work alongside them.
Independence, one day at a time.

What daily-life support looks like in practice
Daily-life support is the practical help that keeps an ordinary week moving. It might be a worker arriving in the morning to help with showering, dressing, breakfast and medication prompts. It might be planning meals, shopping for ingredients, then cooking together so you build confidence instead of just watching someone else do it. It can include laundry, dishes and cleaning alongside you, not instead of you, so the task becomes easier to start next time.
Support can also cover budgeting, grocery lists, appointments, errands and the small pieces of admin that pile up quickly when life is busy or your health is low. Some people use daily-life hours alongside community access, especially when a home routine and getting out of the house affect each other. The point is capacity building in everyday clothes: do-with, not do-for, unless doing-for is what keeps you safe that day, in your own way.
Funded from your Core budget, flexibly
Assistance with Daily Life is usually funded from Core Supports, which are designed to be practical and flexible. Your plan may describe categories, but real life does not always fit neat boxes. You might need more help during a busy week of appointments, less during a quiet week, or a different mix of tasks when something changes at home.
We keep that flexibility visible. There is no minimum lock-in with us, and hours can be planned around what your Core budget can sustain over the plan period. Billing follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and is itemised, so you can see what support happened and when. If you are still working out what your plan can cover, our guide to NDIS mental health supports is a useful place to start.
Support that understands mental health
A hard mental-health day can make ordinary household tasks feel impossible. The laundry is not just laundry; it can be the thing that tips the whole morning over. Dishes, meals, showering, answering the door or getting to an appointment can all become heavier when anxiety, depression, trauma responses or overwhelm are in the room.
Our workers are expected to respond with flexibility, not just write a missed-visit note and move on. That might mean changing the order of tasks, lowering the pressure, doing the first step together, or focusing on food and safety rather than the full list. Daily-life support sits naturally beside Ellira's broader mental health approach: steady, respectful and led by what helps you get through today while still building capacity for tomorrow.

Things people ask us first
Which NDIS budget funds daily-life support?
Assistance with Daily Life is usually funded from Core Supports. It can cover practical help at home and with daily routines when the support relates to your disability needs and plan goals.
What can a support worker help with at home?
Support can include personal care, meals, household tasks, medication prompts, appointments, errands and building daily living skills. The exact tasks are agreed with you and adjusted as your routine changes.
Can I choose workers or keep existing supports?
Yes. We match workers carefully and try to keep familiar faces wherever possible, because daily support works best when people know your routine. We can also work alongside existing providers or family supports with your consent.
Can support change from week to week?
Often, yes. Your hours and tasks can flex with appointments, health, energy and what your Core budget can sustain. We will talk through what is realistic before support starts.
