Peer groups, community days and accessible social events — connection is a support in its own right.
Good support builds a more inclusive community around it. We show up beyond billable hours — in the community, in participant-led advocacy, and in the reform conversations that shape the lives of the people we support.
Ellira exists to influence support and educate — to give real time to the people who need a little more of it, and who have no one else to turn to.
Too often, the person who most needs someone in their corner is the one the system moves past. We built Ellira to be the ones who stay — to advocate loudly, share what we know openly, and make sure no one is left without support simply because their situation is complicated.
Peer groups, community days and accessible social events — connection is a support in its own right.
A volunteer and mentoring program that pairs community members with participants working toward their goals.
We back participant-led advocacy and speak up — with, not for — people with disability on the issues that matter.
A snapshot of the reforms and rights conversations shaping the sector — and where we stand on each.
The "Securing the NDIS for Future Generations" changes are reshaping how plans are built and how eligibility is assessed. We back the disability community's call for genuine co-design — changes designed with participants, not just for them — and we help the people we support understand what each change means for their plan.
Thousands of Australians still live in group homes where support comes as a condition of the housing. We believe people should be able to choose where and with whom they live — and receive support there. It's why our SIL model starts with the home you want, not a vacancy we need to fill.
Too many people are still placed under substitute decision-making when what they need is support to make their own decisions. We practise supported decision-making as the default — our role is to help people weigh options and be heard, not to decide for them.
The Disability Royal Commission called for real action to end segregation in education, employment and housing. We support inclusive alternatives — mainstream options, made genuinely accessible — and we advocate for the stronger anti-discrimination protections that make them possible.
Our role is to back participant-led voices and make room for them — not to talk on their behalf.
We take part in consultations and keep participants informed about the changes that affect their plans.
Supported decision-making, choice of where to live, meaningful inclusion — built into how we deliver every support.
